The local farmer’s market had a little petting zoo today. Although the farmer’s market was a small event, the petting zoo had quite a few animals. There were a lot of sheep, some chicken and ducks, bunnies, a turkey, and a cute little piglet. Allison tried to pet as many animals as she could reach. I am teaching her to love animals, and so far she is not scared of them unless they (usually dogs) come running at her and frighten her.
We also got some peaches at the market and they were juicy and delicious. Today was a special event with the petting zoo; it was supposed to be the past Monday but was rescheduled due to the rain. The petting zoo was there thanks to a company called Bring The Farm To You and all of the kids at the market looked like they enjoyed it. I have not been to a market on a regular day (it runs all summer), but I might go to the next event on August 14 because they are going to be having a balloon animal artist.
