I guess I never remembered how big of a family holiday Easter is. These past few years while married (and many years before that), I do not remember celebrating in any special way. This year, however, we went to my brother’s house and had a big Easter dinner there. I had made lasagna and birds milk jello for the party. Both of these recipes are delicious, loved by many and make great party dishes.
My sister decided to have an Easter egg hunt both for the big kids and the little ones- Allison and her two cousins. Even though Allison did not really know how to do the hunt, she still had fun eating the gummies inside the eggs. It was a fun little tradition for the kids. At home, I did not do any traditions besides painting a few hard boiled eggs at home, using food coloring and vinegar to make some pretty pink and blue eggs. Last Easter, Allison was still too young to do anything but by next year she will be able to participate in more activities and maybe even learn the true meaning of Easter as well.
Mathew 28:6 NIV He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
