Free Fun

A few days ago, we decided to check out the nature center at the local state park. It was somewhat recently built but we had not seen it yet because I was not really aware of it. The inside has an indoor stream where you can see various fish swimming around. There are also a few turtles for show (like the one Allison is looking at). You can see a bunch of different animal pelts in one room and my favorite were the white rabbit and the beaver because they were some of the softest ones. There is also a room at the nature center where kids can look at an interactive map of the park and read books and play with stuffed animals. My favorite part, however, was the outdoor viewing of the bison from a balcony at the nature center. They were too far for Allison to be interested but I’m sure that we can revisit when she gets older. It will be more fun the older she gets because she will be able to ask questions and actually become interested in learning things. Columbus has a ton of places I still want to explore and, once older, Allison will become a great companion.

Galatians 6:4 (MSG) Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others.

Back At It

It has been a rough day and previous night for Allison. She has a fever again and has been miserable day and night. This winter has been tough on everyone. It hasn’t been much of a winter, but it has brought about a lot of sickness nonetheless. I bought her baby ibuprofen and I hope that allows her to sleep at least for part of the night – both for her sanity and mine as well. I do not know what else to do besides be here to comfort here because she has been attached to me all day. However, I am not able to do much myself and it is draining all of my energy.

Big Girl Car Seat

Allison’s big girl car seat is the Graco 4Ever car seat in the color Tuscan. I got it from Bed Bath & Beyond and so far I love it. I used the 20% coupon on it and that saved a lot of money so I’m happy with that. The car seat has been used for a few months already and Allison loves it as well. She loves being able to see out of the car window, and the fact that she can also see me easier. The color is also a great one too because it is neutral and can be used with multiple kids (unless the safety standards change, of course).  I like how this car seat can be used from infant to big kid so it will grow with Allison. Right now the only problem I have with it is how uncomfortable it is for her to sleep in it because her head always falls forward. Hopefully, I can fix this by using the little travel neck pillow I have for her somewhere in storage. Overall, I love this car seat and I can’t wait to see how she will like it on a longer trip like a vacation.
